Windows 7 Action Center

The Windows 7 Action Center can be considered as a place where you can find all the messages relating to your PC, on which you need to take action. It contains messages about the running of your PC which help you diagnose and solve issues, if any, relating to your PC. This includes information about Security & System Maintenance.

When the status of a monitored item changes Action Center notifies you with a message in the notification area on the taskbar, the status of the item in Action Center changes color to reflect the severity of the message, and an action is recommended.

To change which items Action Center checks:
- Click to open Action Center.
- Click Change Action Center settings

Select a check box to make Action Center check an item for changes or problems, or clear a check box to stop checking the item. If you cleared a check box, click OK in the dialog.

Click OK.

If you prefer to keep track of an item yourself, and you don’t want to see notifications about its status, you can turn off notifications for the item.

When you clear the check box for an item on the Change message settings page, you won’t receive any messages, and you won’t see the item’s status in Action Center. We recommend checking the status of all items listed, since many can help warn you about security issues.

However, if you decide to turn off messages for an item, you can always turn messages back on. On the Change message settings page, select the check box for the item and then click OK. Or, click the appropriate Turn on messages link next to the item on the main page.

To change how solutions to problems appear in Action Center, click Change message settings, and then click Problem report settings. On the Change problem report settings page, you can choose how much information is sent, and how often to check for new solutions.

You can also control the behaviour of the Action Center.

From the taskbar, click Customize to open Notification Area Icons window. From here, choose how you wish Action Center to behave, from its drop down menu. Click OK.

This tutorial intends to give you some advice about how to import your DVD/VOB/MOV/MP4/FLV files to Windows Movie Maker.
By daisyblue on 29 April 2009

You are fond of a clip from a DVD movie or mp4/flv files and tried to import it to windows movie maker, but the content is in VOB files and incompatible with WMM. There comes the headache! So, this tutorial intends to give you some advice about how to import your DVD/VOB/MOV/MP4/FLV files to Windows Movie Maker.

Windows Movie Maker is basic video creating/editing software introduced by Microsoft. It contains features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline narration, and Auto Movie. It can only accept video files in format AVI, WMV, MPEG, etc. So, if you want to edit your DVD video in Windows Movie Maker, it is better for you to convert the video format to WMV or AVI first.

Please download Daniusoft DVD ripper, install and run it. It is one of the bestDVD Converter, which can help you rip DVD to almost all video and audio formats. Then we can finish the conversion in 4 simple steps:

Step 1: Import DVD files.

You can either click Add button to insert the files you want to convert , or easily drag & drop the DVD files into ‘Getting started’ table. You are allowed to load DVD Rom, DVD folders, ISO files or IFO files respectively.

Step 2: Customize output settings.

Click the "Convert to" drop-down menu to select the output format. You can choose WMV or AVI format. Also, you are allowed to customize the output parameters by clicking “Settings” button .Then click the "Target Path" button to find the destination folder for saving output format, or the files will be saved as default. A regular DVD movie has multiple subtitles and audio tracks, and you can select the right one for you.

Step 3: Edit video files.(optional)

Click “Edit” button, you are allowed to make wonderful video editing by cropping, trimming, adjusting effect and editing watermark.

Step 4: Start conversion.

Click “Start” button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion. All the tasks of conversion will be finished at fast speed and high output quality. You can view your converted files by press the browse button, or you can choose to turn off computer after conversion.

Also, VOB/MOV/MP4/FLV files can’t be imported into windows movie maker directly as the reason of incompatible. So, you can use Daniusoft Video converter to convert them to WMV or AVI files. It is a superprofessionalvideo file converter that can convert your videos in high speed and excellent quality.

After you get the output video clip ripped from the DVD or VOB/MOV/MP4/FLV files, you can import them to Windows Movie maker to edit. Have fun J
